Ginny Gains Support
The campaign continues to gain momentum. U.S. Senator John Warner has sent a written request to the White House on our behalf asking the President to consider a presidential pig pardon.
"Pardon Me. It's Ham, Not Turkey proves to be an excellent educational resource for one of our nation's most revered holidays. Its historical accuracy dispels the common myths of Thanksgiving and relays the true story in a mysterious and adventurous way. This book would be a fine learning resource to add to any child's library." - Congressman J. Randy Forbes (VA-04)
Mayor Meyera E. Oberndorf, mayor of Virginia Beach – the largest
city in the Virginia Commonwealth, is an active supporter of the
PigPardon campaign and the “First-Thanksgiving” initiative.
Ginny's campaign is grateful to Congresswoman Thelma Drake (R-VA) for supporting American history and the Federation of Virginia Food Banks. Thelma Drake is very enthusiastic about the campaign, and has promised to keep the issue before President Bush. To facilitate the campaign's request for a Pig Pardon this Thanksgiving, her office has called the White House on our behalf and will continue to assist in White House communications.
